AGI Scotland goes from strength to strength, delivering another fantastic annual event in Glasgow on 27th February, with more than 160 people attending.
The theme was “Maximising the use Data and Technology”, and an enthusiastic audience heard keynotes from Steven Ramage from the Committee on Earth Observation Satellites and Charles Kennelly from ESRI on spatial data ethics.
Other speakers came from organisations such as Astun Technology, NatureScot, Shell, Rethink Carbon, Scottish Forestry, and Zulu Ecosystems to explore that while data lies at the core of what we do, there is skill involved in using it innovatively which brings benefits of efficiency, wellbeing and sustainability.
The day ended with a well-received panel session on training and skills, chaired by Ashley Stewart of Location Data Scotland, and highlighting work that is being undertaken between AGI, LDS and the University of Edinburgh on filling the skills gap and ensuring diversity in our profession.
