The AGI’s Mission and Role

Our mission is to nurture, create and support a thriving UK Geospatial Community, actively supporting a sustainable future

Our Mission

We aim to achieve our mission through the three pillars that govern our activities and intentions; to nurture and connect active GI communities, to support career and skills development for GI Professionals, and to provide thought leadership to inspire future generations.

Our Role

Our role is to provide the tools and knowledge our members need as the world of geospatial acts upon the challenges faced by both the planet its population.

We are here to serve our community of individual and corporate members who use and benefit from geographic information. We do this by leading, connecting, and developing.

Understanding “where” in our world has never been more relevant or important and with over 2,000 individual and organisation level members, we provide a strong professional network which challenges the future direction of GI.

We support our members, whether they are just starting a geospatial career or have many years of experience, and we work professionally and collaboratively with partners, members, and wider industry, providing thought leadership and maximising the benefits delivered by geospatial and geographic information.

Join us and discover the power of community as we work together for a sustainable future
